Egypt-Gaza Crossing Opens For First Time In Months

The only crossing between Gaza and Egypt opened on Tuesday for 72 hours, allowing people to leave the Palestinian enclave for the first time since the novel coronavirus outbreak began.

The Rafah crossing in southern Gaza was closed in March, as Hamas, the Islamist group that controls the strip, sought to guard against a major virus outbreak in the densely-populated territory with weak health infrastructure.

Rafah was opened for three days in April, but only to allow Gazans stranded abroad to return home. The crossing re-opened for limited two-way movement on Tuesday.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been named the chairman of the 104-member All Progressives Congress( APC) National Campaign Council for Ondo State Governorship Election

Governor Mai Mala Buni, the Chairman of the Caretaker National Convention Planning Committee of the party announced members of the council today.

The Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong will serve as deputy chairman, while Comrade Mustapha Salihu will serve as Secretary.

The campaign council will be inaugurated on Saturday 15 August, 2020 at the APC National Secretariat by 2pm.

President of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide Apostle Johnson Suleman has reacted to the death sentence handed down to a 22-year-old man by a Kano Upper Shari’a Court on Monday for blaspheming Prophet Muhammad.

The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH) on Tuesday commenced a three-day warning strike over an alleged assault of one of its members by the family of a patient.
