US Economy Regains 1.8m Jobs In July

The US economy regained 1.8 million jobs in July, a solid but unremarkable result that comes as President Donald Trump prepares for a difficult re-election bid, but economists warn challenges to the pandemic recovery are growing.

At Least 14 Dead After Indian Jet Skids Off Runway

At least 14 people were killed and 15 others were seriously injured Friday when an Indian passenger jet skidded off the runway after landing in heavy rain, officials said.

Air India Express said more than 190 passengers and crew were on board the plane, which left from Dubai and landed at Kozhikode airport in the southern state of Kerala.

10 Million Nigerians To Receive ₦23bn Palliatives – CACOVID

The Organised Private Sector Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) has commenced distribution exercise.

The palliatives worth ₦23billion targets 10 million Nigerians.

Zouera Youssoufou, the CACOVID Administrator, made this known on Thursday.

President Muhammadu Buhari had in May approved the opening of five COVID-19 Donor Accounts.

In April, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) revealed that CACOVID donations had risen to N25.8 billion.

The unnamed patient died of circulatory system failure after contracting the bubonic plague, health authorities have confirmed, although it’s unknown how they caught it

Chinese authorities have sealed off an entire village after one of its residents died of bubonic plague.

The death in Suji Xincun village, Inner Mongolia was reported to authorities in Baotou city on Sunday. Yesterday the patient was confirmed to have been suffering from bubonic plague.

The patient died of circulatory system failure, the Baotou Municipal Health Commission announced in a statement. It’s unclear how they caught the disease.

A fallen fuel tanker has crushed a woman to death at Mile 2 area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

The incident occurred on Friday morning.
