FG Speaks On Reopening Of Tertiary Institutions

The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has said there was no plan yet to reopen tertiary institutions in the country.

Dr. Sani Aliyu, the National Coordinator of PTF, stated this when he appeared on Raypower FM on Tuesday.

He pointed out that at the moment, the PTF was concerned with measures to contain community transmission of the Coronavirus.

Aliyu said the government realized that reopening of tertiary institutions, bars, restaurants and other social activities”could encourage community transmission of COVID-19.

Buhari Seeks Senate Approval For 42 Ambassadorial Nominees

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has presented the list of 42 ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for approval.

One of the nominees from the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, was appointed as career ambassador, while the rest are non-career nominees.

Former minister, Ademola Seriki (Lagos) made the list, while former Managing Director, The Guardian, Debo Adesina (Oyo) is also on the list.

A new Value Added Tax (VAT) regime of 15 percent comes into effect in Saudi Arabia from today.

Oil Bunkering: Navy Arrests Five Suspects, Seizes One Vessel

The Nigeria Navy Ship Jubilee (NNS) has arrested five suspects over oil bunkering in Akwa Ibom and seized one vessel ladened with illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).

It added that the vessel, MT PREYOR 1 was seized on May 18 during anti illegal oil patrol along Uta-Ewa Creek.

The Commander of NNS Jubilee, Commodore Majid Ibrahim, revealed this on Tuesday to journalists while handing over the vessel and the suspects to Officials of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ikot Abasi for further investigations and prosecution.
