Why We Cannot Expose Boko Haram Sponsors – Nigerian Army

The Nigerian Army has said it is not their duty to expose those sponsoring Boko Haram in the country.

Coordinator of Defence Media Operations, John Enenche, stated this at a media briefing on Thursday.

Enenche admitted that the Army knows that some criminal groups have heavy financial backing, but its major task is to fight “terrorism and other criminality”.

He explained that the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and the Department of State Services (DSS) were responsible for revealing the sponsors.

The Kano State Government has revealed that 193 Almajiris have tested positive for Coronavirus, further fueling the controversy surrounding the ongoing reparations exercise.

Fraud: Buhari Suspends NSITF MD, 11 Others

President Muhammadu Buhari has suspended the Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Adebayo Somefun, indefinitely.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Press and Public Relations, Charles Akpan, on Thursday in Abuja.

Buhari also approved the suspension of other Directors in the agency.

They include Jasper Ikedi Azuatalam, Executive Director, Finance and Investment; Olukemi Nelson, Executive Director, Operations and Alhaji Tijani Darazo Sulaiman, Executive Director, Administration.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, ordered the interim forfeiture of 48 choice properties, linked to former Chairman of Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Funds (NSITF), Ngozi Olejeme.

The properties are in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Bayelsa, Enugu, Edo and Delta States.

Three persons have reportedly died in a fatal accident along Papa-Ilaro road in Ogun on Wednesday, July 1.

Two other passengers in the road crash were said to have sustained injuries, while two others were rescued unhurt.

Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI has commended Dubai Police for arresting and extraditing Nigerian Yahoo-Yahoo big boy, Raymond Igbalode Abbas, known as ‘Hushpuppi’ and his close associate, Olalekan Jacob Ponle, also known as Woodberry, to the United States for allegedly defrauding almost two million people.
