Why I Won’t Hand Over To My Deputy, Ajayi – Gov Akeredolu

The Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on Friday disclosed, that he will not hand over governance to his deputy, Agboola Ajayi despite testing positive for COVID-19.

According to Akeredolu, who described his deputy as a threat to governance in the state, Ajayi no longer belongs to the APC and governance in the state.

Akeredolu, who spoke through the state Commissioner for Information, Donald Ojogo said that it is a non-issue that Governor Akeredolu should hand over governance to Ajayi.

A coalition of Igbo Groups, have lined up the Minister of Transport, Chibuike Amaechi, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, Governor David Nweze Umahi, and Peter Obi for 2023 presidency.

The coalition comprising World Igbo Youth Congress, Southeast Women Professionals and Igbo Students Union described the decision of Arewa Youths to form an alliance with Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide ahead of the 2023 general elections as a welcome development.

The Coalition said the development was an affirmative action that both groups will definitely present a consensus candidate in 2023.

Abule-Egba Explosion: Lagos Disburses ₦19.2m To 300 Victims

Lagos State Government has disbursed ₦19.2million to 300 victims of Abule-Egba pipeline explosion.

The money was paid out on Friday at the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Igando.

The agency disclosed that some of the victims have been living at the camp.

The January 19 disaster claimed no fewer than five lives.

Ondo Health Commissioner Buried Amid Disregard For Social Distancing

The body of the Ondo State Commissioner for Health, late Dr. Wahab Adegbenro was on Friday committed to mother earth following his demise on Thursday.

Dr. Adegbero’s remains were laid to rest according to Islamic rites in his country home of Ilara-Mokin, Ifedore Local Government Area of the Ondo State.

During the burial, the enormous crowd failed to adhere to the social distancing rule as they converged on the burial site to catch a glimpse of the process.

Adegbenro, 65, who was the Chairman of the Inter-ministerial committee against COVID-19 gave up the ghost on Thursday following COVID-19 complications.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the posting and redeployment of senior police officers in line with the recent presidential approval for the re-organisation of the force.

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has been issued a new certificate by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Governor Obaseki reportedly served in the National Youth Service Corps in 1980 but had an error on the certificate issued to him as his surname read Obasek instead of Obaseki.
