Ondo Guber: Prince Olateru-Olagbegi Emerges ADP Candidate

Ahead the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State, the Action Democratic Party, (ADP) has elected Prince Martin Kunle Olateru-Olagbegi as the candidate of the party for the election.

Olateru-Olagbegi who was unanimously adopted as the flagbearer of the ADP at a primary election of the party held at its state secretariat, in Akure, Ondo State capital.

Speaking after his adoption, Olateru-Olagbegi who lamented that all previous administration in the state has failed to address the welfare of the people of the state pledged to bring the expected change and development to the state.

Details Of Oba Of Benin’s Meeting With Obaseki, Wike, Emerge

The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, on Saturday said plans were underway to summon the Edo Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs to pray for a peaceful election in the state.

Gov. Tambuwal Warns INEC Against Rigging Edo Election

Aminu Tambuwal, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and governor of Sokoto State, on Saturday warned against rigging the Edo State September 19 governorship election.

Tambuwal warned the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) to avoid election rigging by conducting a free, fair and credible election in Edo State.

The Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, was left deflated and completely disgraced today at the Palace of the Oba of Benin after his convoy was blocked by angry residents, numbering in hundreds, who booed and disparaged the Governor as a thief.

No Respite Yet As World COVID-19 Cases Surpass 16million

Global COVID-19 cases accelerated beyond the 16 million mark on Saturday night, just three days after reaching the 15 million milestone.

According to data compiled by worldometers.info, confirmed cases of the virus are now 16,205,503.

The death toll also spiralled up to 648,476.

Recovery number is however more than 60 percent, at 9,914,063.

China Successfully Test-Runs World’s Largest Amphibious Aircraft

China’s locally developed AG600 the world’s largest amphibious aircraft succeeded in its maiden flight over sea on Sunday morning in Qingdao, east China’s Shandong Province.

According to its developer the aircraft took off from the sea off Qingdao at 10:18 a.m..

It completed the test flight after flying for about 31 minutes, said state-owned plane-maker Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).
