UEFA Unveils Champions League Quarter-Finals Draw

UEFA on Friday concluded the draw for the Champions League quarter-finals and semi-finals.

One of the highlights of the draw held at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland was that the four ties postponed in March because of COVID-19 will be played in August

The matches will played at the host club’s home stadium.

Four quarter-finalists were confirmed before the COVID-19 pandemic suspended the season.

Germany’s finance minister Olaf Scholz and foreign minister Heiko Maas have declined an invitation to take part in a Washington gathering of ministers from the G7 group of large industrial countries.

Der Spiegel magazine reported on Thursday that Germany would instead be represented by state secretaries.

The magazine said other G7 countries had taken a similar decision.

The impeachment of Ondo deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi by the House of Assembly has run into a legal brick wall.

Justice Olarenwaju Akeredolu, the chief judge of the state has rejected a request by the House, asking that she set up a seven-man panel to investigate the allegations against Agboola.

She said the impeachment proceeding has skirted some constitutional provisions and can therefore not request for a probe panel.
