Amotekun: MURIC Reveals Plots To Create Oduduwa Republic

An Islamic human rights organization, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has insisted that there is a connection between the Amotekun initiative and recent agitation for the establishment of Oduduwa Republic.

The group, therefore, declared that Muslims in the region will never be part of the proposed Oduduwa Republic.

It called on the governors in the region to be wary of the activities of irredentist elements who are exploiting the euphoria of the moment to achieve their selfish and parochial objectives.

Appointments: Stop Overlooking Southerners – Umar Blasts Buhari

A retired Colonel, Abubakar Dangiwa Umar, has lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari over what he described as “skewed” appointments.

The former military officer said this in an open letter on Sunday.

The letter obtained by DAILY POST, warned that history will not be kind to Buhari if he continued to toe the path of alleged bias.

He raised alarm that the current situation will ruin to Nigeria and told the president to save his image by confirming a Christian as the next Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

Dozens of cities across the United States extended curfews through Sunday night and many deployed National Guard soldiers, amid continuing unrest on the streets.

Tens of thousands of people took to the streets again on Sunday after days of protests over the death of George Floyd.

NCDC Announces 307 New Cases As Nigeria’s Total Exceeds 10,000

Nigeria on Sunday recorded three hundred and seven, 307, COVID-19 cases in the country.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, made this known in a post on its official Twitter page.

Lagos State recorded 188, while FCT followed with 44 cases.

The country has so far recorded 10,162 cases of the deadly disease, while 3007 patients have been discharged.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won the 2020 Local Government election in the 18 councils and 196 electoral wards of Cross River.

The election, held on May 30 in all council areas of the state, was contested by the All Progressive Congress (APC); Labour Party (LP); Young Progressive Party (YPP; New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the PDP.

Police Urge Appeal Court To Uphold Maryam Sanda’s Death Sentence

The Police has prayed the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division to uphold the death sentence imposed on Maryam Sanda by an Abuja High Court for killing her husband Bilyaminu Bello.

In its brief of argument filed in response to the appeal filed by Sanda’s legal team led by Joe Kyari Gadzama (SAN), the police submitted that the trial court was right in finding Sanda guilty of willfully murdering her husband in cold blood.
