Gov. Buni Dissociates Self From Fake Twitter Handle

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has disassociated himself with a fake twitter handle ‘mmbproject’ making the rounds on social media.

The Director-General, Press and Media Affairs to the governor, Mamman Mohammed in a statement on Saturday also warned members of the public not to engage in any form of transaction with the handler(s) of the fake account.

Swiss Police Probe Ex-FIFA Chief Blatter Over $1m Loan To Jack Warner

Former FIFA chief Sepp Blatter is under probe again by Swiss prosecutors for suspected criminal mismanagement of a decade-old $1 million payment.

The probe is connected with a loan FIFA gave to the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFF) in 2010, which was given interest-free, with no collateral, and was quickly forgiven as a “subsidy”, the AFP reported.

This marks the latest in a string of allegations of improper FIFA-linked payments to Trinidad’s long-serving FIFA official Jack Warner, who has been banned from football for life and is battling extradition to the US from his native Trinidad.

A white Atlanta police officer fatally shot an African American father of several young children late Friday night following a struggle outside a Wendy’s restaurant on the city’s southside, sparking calls for reform and demonstrations that led to vandalism and arrests.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Office for Africa in Brazzaville, Congo, has said that 72 million children in Africa are forced into child labour.

The UN’s health agency disclosed this in a tweet on its official twitter account at the weekend.

The WHO said the COVID-19 pandemic had further put many more children at risk of child labour.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC has again cautioned drivers of container-laden trucks and other motorists against recklessness on the highways to avoid unnecessary loss of lives and property.

The Sango-Ota Unit Commander of FRSC, Mr Akeem Ganiyu, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Ota, Ogun.

Ganiyu spoke against the backdrop of recent accident at Sango- Ota Toll- Gate involving a container marked EKY 21 YA and a tanker with registration number SMK 279 XU, that emptied its contents on the road.

Rapists struck again in Sasa area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, killing another female student, Grace Oshiagwu, after molesting.
