The Lagos branches of the Nigerian Medical Association and the Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria said the decision to treat COVID-19 patients at home was tough but has to be taken.

The Chairman of Lagos AGPMPN, Dr Tunji Akintade, that the decision to treat mild and asymptomatic COVID-19 patients was taken because all the government hospitals and isolation centres in the state were filled up.

Victor Giadom, the deputy national secretary of the All Progressives Congress, who seized control of the party today, has cancelled the screening for the Edo State governorship primary.

His action may have put the party’s plans for a 22 June direct primary asunder.

The party’s screening notably disqualified the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki from participating.

Obaseki on Tuesday announced his resignation from APC as he was set to join the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.

Dailly Post recalls that Governor Ikpeazu tested positive for the coronavirus disease a few weeks ago.

US Sanctions 6 Nigerians Over $6m Fraud

The United States government has sanctioned six Nigerians over $6million cyber fraud against its citizens.

Micheal Pompeo, US secretary of state, said this in a statement published on the department of state’s website on Tuesday.

Pompeo said the victims were defrauded through the use of sensitive information and financial resources derived by manipulative means which will not be tolerated.

The Nigerians listed were identified as Benson Orson, Kayode Abiola, Ogunshakin Alex, Okpoh Felix, Olorunyomi Micheal, Uzuh Richard.
