Former Senate President Bukola Saraki said the defection of Governor Obaseki to the Peoples Democratic Party has exposed the suspended chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Adams Oshiomhole.

Saraki, stated this while welcoming Obaseki to PDP on Friday.

Saraki said he had ignored Oshiomhole’s verbal attacks on him because he knew “a day like this would come when his masquerade will dance naked in the market.”

He added that the end of Oshiomhole’s political career is near.

Court Knocks Out Victor Giadom As APC Drama Shifts To Rivers

In a deepening drama in the All Progressives Congress, a Rivers State High Court has restrained Victor Giadom from parading himself as a member of the National Working Committee of party.

The court based its order on Giadom’s resignation as Deputy National Secretary of the APC, when he went to vie for the position of Deputy Governor in Rivers in 2019.

Giadom has been waving a court order by an Abuja court that appointed him as acting national chairman.

The APC National Working Committee responded by formally accepting his letter of resignation.

The sharpening political divide in Mali is worrying its West African neighbours, as second major protest erupted in Bamako on Friday.

A delegation from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) met Mali’s prime minister as well as opposition figures in Bamako on Thursday and Friday, in a bid to defuse tensions.

It called for the creation of a “consensus government of national unity.”

Google on Thursday boosted to $1 billion the amount of free advertising it will give non-profits this year, taking special interest in groups combating racism and damage done by the coronavirus pandemic.

The internet titan increased its free advertising initiative by $200 million, with the added funding intended for non-profits “tackling pressing issues like COVID-19 response and recovery — especially in hard-hit developing economies — and fighting racial injustice around the world,” Google Ad Grants head Michelle Hurtado said in a blog post.

Hotels in Indonesia are likely to remain closed throughout June, with operations to resume in July at the earliest, a hotelier association has said, citing concerns about low demand amid consumer fears over the COVID-19 pandemic.

A third person who attended the Black Lives Matter protest in Melbourne has tested positive for the coronavirus.

There has been a spike of 18 new cases in Victoria, it was announced on Thursday, with just six in hotel quarantine.

It comes after the state confirmed on Wednesday it recorded 21 new cases in a single day.

Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, has ordered that all courts be shut immediately.

He gave the directive in a broadcast on Friday.

The governor announced that Ebonyi has recorded its first COVID-19 death.
