Drama As Court Stops Obaseki From Participating In PDP Primaries

A Federal High court sitting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, has restrained the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki from participating in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship primary election.

One of the party’s aspirants, Omoregir Ogbeide-Ihiama had approached the court asking for the Governor, who just joined the PDP from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to be stopped from participating in the primaries.

2 Percent Of Volkswagen Workers Contract Coronavirus

Volkswagen AG’s Mexican unit said about two per cent of its workers tested for coronavirus had contracted the disease at some point.

This underlined the challenge faced by automakers in reopening factories before the pandemic has peaked in Mexico.

Volkswagen last Tuesday began sending workers, in reduced numbers, back to its factory in the city of Puebla, where the German automaker, and its luxury brand unit, Audi have major plants.

Many other major carmakers, especially from the United States and Japan, had resumed operations in other parts of Mexico a couple of weeks earlier.

JAMB Lists UNIs That Won’t Admit Candidates With Less Than 200

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has made it clear that some universities will not offer admission to candidates that score less than 200.

They include: University of Lagos, University of Ibadan, Covenant University, Obafemi Awolowo University and University of Benin.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, on Monday in Abuja.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has launched a scanty attack on Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan said Ize-Iyamu lacks the quality to become Edo State governor, even with the help of his “godfather,” Adams Oshiomhole, who is the suspended National Chairman of APC.

Ologbondiyan insisted that people of Edo State have said they won’t vote for Ize-Iyamu.

In a statement, the PDP’s spokesman recalled how Oshiomhole once said Ize-Iyamu lacked the character to become governor of the state.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has called on Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State to “set aside his anger” and return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ize-Iyamu made the appeal on Monday in Benin City, Edo State after he emerged as the governorship candidate of the APC for the September 19, 2020 poll in the state.
