Buhari Set For Flag-Off Of Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline

President Muhammadu Buhari will tomorrow perform the flag-off of the building of the 40-inch x 614km Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline project.

The project, expected to be completed within 24-months, is a section of the Trans-Nigeria Gas Pipeline (TNGP) with capacity to transport about 2.2billion cubic feet of gas per day.

Dr. Kennie Obateru, Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), explained that the flag-off would be performed virtually from the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.

There will be simultaneous link to Rigachukun, Kaduna State and Ajaokuta Steel Complex, in Kogi State.

The President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of a Deputy Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Musa, as his Chief Personal Security Officer.

Musa’s appointment follows the redeployment of his predecessor, Commissioner of Police, Abdulkarim Dauda.

Dauda was redeployed after his involvement in the shooting incident which happened at the presidential villa some weeks ago.

The shooting incident happened after Aisha and her security details had stormed the official residence of the President’s Personal Assistant, Sabiu Yusuf, in an attempt to force him into 14-day isolation after his travel to Lagos considered to be the epicenter of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, made the announcement during the daily media chat of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 in Abuja on Monday.

Primary Schools, Daycare Centres Remain Closed – FG

The Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19 on Monday said Daycare centres and primary schools remain closed.

This was disclosed by the National Coordinator of the Committee, Sani Aliyu during its daily briefing in Abuja.

“All daycares and primary schools to remain closed till further evaluation,” Aliyu said.

President Muhammadu Buhari in a phone chat with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, have reviewed the current progress made on the OPEC+ deal.
