Former Apartheid President Klerk Withdraws From U.S Right Talks

South Africa’s last apartheid president, Frederik Willem De Klerk, has withdrawn from a U.S. seminar about minority rights.

According to his foundation, he withdrew because he did not want to embarrass himself or his hosts in the current charged racial climate.

De Klerk, who was the head of South Africa’s white minority government until 1994, was scheduled to speak on issues such as minority rights, racism and the rule of law at an American Bar Association (ABA) virtual event.

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has lashed out at President Trump for wanting to “slow down” on coronavirus testing.

At his rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma Saturday, Trump defended his performance on handling the pandemic but said widespread testing is making him look bad.

“You’re gonna find more people, you’re gonna find more cases. I said to my people, ‘Slow the testing down, please,’” he said.

Pelosi vowed to get answers from the Trump administration later this week.

A group of IPOB Elders on Monday led by some Offors have reacted to the statement by Miyetti Allah leader, Bello Abdullahi that he has recruited a million men to sack Southeast Nigeria.

In a video that was obtained by Africa Daily News, New York, the spokesperson for the group Mazi Edebere Adunsi from Igwuocha, at Obibo in Rivers State blasted the Miyetti Allah organisation for trying to sow mayhem and discord among ethnic groups in Nigeria.

WHO Records Largest Single Day Increase In COVID-19 Cases

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has reported 183,020 COVID-19 cases, the largest single-day increase in coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic.

The previous record for new cases was 181,232 on 18 June.

The biggest increase was from North and South America with over 116,000 new cases, according to WHO daily report.

Overall in the pandemic, the WHO reported 8,708,008 cases — 183,020 in the past 24 hours — with 461,715 deaths worldwide, a daily increase of 4,743.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo Governorship Primaries Committee, headed by Gov. Hope Uzodinma of Imo on Sunday released procedures for Monday’s primary election in compliance with the state government’s COVID-19 regulations.

A statement by the Secretary of the committee, Dr Ajibola Basiru said voting would commence simultaneously by 8:00 a.m. in the 192 wards of the state.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu took to his official Facebook page yesterday to shed more light on a bit of the Oduduwa Republic history.

Using an illustrated map for emphasis, he shows how the Oduduwas were given the name ‘Yarriba’ which was a derogatory word for someone who is dubious and cunning in his dealings and how they whole-heartedly accepted it without protest.
