Beyoncé And Jay-Z Sued By Jamaican Artist Over ‘Black Effect’

Beyoncé Knowles Carter and her husband Jay-Z are being accused of not giving a Jamaican artist credit for her contribution to their single “Black Effect.”

Lenora Antoinette Stines filed Tuesday in the United States District Court Central District of California to be compensated for copyright infringement, right of publicity and unjust enrichment.
The suit is centered around the song “Black Effect” from the couple’s joint 2018 album, “Everything is Love.”
Jay-Z’s legal name is Shawn Carter and the album is credited to “The Carters.”

The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced on Thursday that it has discovered a new oil site at the Gulf of Suez.

Petrogulf Misr joint company discovered the new site on behalf of Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), Pico GOS Petroleum Company Limited and the Egyptian unit of Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC), the ministry said.

Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) are searching for a 4-year-old child who was swept away by a flood.

The rescue team began their search at 38 Fashola street, Papa Asafa, Orile, Agege.

Director-General of LASEMA, Dr Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident to the publication, saying that the agency received a distress call from a witness.

Michael Akinleye, Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ado Ekiti Local Government, has threatened legal action against the appointment of Abiola Ajimobi as Acting National Chairman.

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with Service Chiefs at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The Service Chiefs, led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin arrived at the seat of power at 08:50 GMT and proceeded straight to the Council Chambers.

An investigation has been launched after a collision between two planes on the tarmac at Aberdeen International Airport.

The nose of one of the aircraft ended up wedged under the engine of the other on Tuesday evening, lifting it off the ground.

No passengers were on board the Loganair jet, which was struck by the former Flybe plane.
