The death of George Floyd and subsequent demonstrations nationwide have many families discussing racism — but for many African American parents, “the talk” has long been a necessity in society where their children must learn the dangers of growing up black in the United States.

Dozens Wounded In Clashes As Hundreds Of Protesters Flood Beirut

Protesters poured into the streets of the Lebanese capital Saturday to decry the collapse of the economy, as clashes erupted between supporters and opponents of the Iran-backed Shiite group Hezbollah.

Hundreds filled the streets in and around the protest hub of Martyrs Square in the centre of Beirut, with skirmishes also between protesters and security forces, who fired tear gas.

Forty-eight were wounded in the violence, 11 of whom were hospitalised, while the rest were treated at the scene, the Lebanese Red Cross said.

According to reports, he was sacked following a bust-up with president Massimo Cellino.

Coronavirus: India Topples Spain To Go 5th In The World

India has become the fifth worst coronavirus-hit country in the world as it brushed Spain aside on Sunday.

The Asian country reported a grand total of 241,970 cases, overtaking Spain’s 240,978 cases.

On Saturday, India reported 9,887 new coronavirus cases, its biggest one-day spike so far.

India’s recovery rate compared to Friday fell from 48.27 per cent to 48.20 per cent.

Manchester City To Appeal UEFA Ban Tomorrow

In a case that has wide-ranging repercussions, Manchester City will begin tomorrow their appeal against a two-year ban from UEFA competition.

The case will be heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

City are accused by UEFA of overstating sponsorship revenue to hide that they had not complied with UEFA’s financial fair play (FFP) rules between 2012 and 2016.

President Donald Trump said India and China would have had higher COVID-19 cases than the United States if they had conducted more tests.

Speaking at a medical manufacturing facility in Maine, Trump Friday claimed the US had tested over 20 million samples for the disease so far.

The US is the worst-hit by the pandemic, in terms of both deaths and infections.

The country has reported nearly 1.9 million cases and over 109,000 fatalities, according to the data by Johns Hopkins.
