Buhari’s Delay In Appointing Ministers Slowed Economy – CDD

The Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) has released a report on its assessment of President Muhammadu Buhari’s handling of the economy in the last five years.

The report entitled ‘Fluctuating Fortunes: A 5-year Economy Assessment under the Buhari Administration’, was signed by Idayat Hassan, CCD Director.

It noted that “The six months delay in deciding the cabinet constrained federal government capital expenditure releases created an atmosphere of uncertainty that slowed down private sector investment decisions, increased outflow of foreign investments, all with negative consequences on economic activities.”

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has advised the Hausa tribe to join the Biafra and the Oduduwa Republic in the search of freedom from Nigeria.

“It’s not only Biafraland and Oduduwa that need liberation, Hausa people need it too,” Kanu wrote on Facebook.

The facility is called Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC).

Oil prices dropped on Thursday, reversing Wednesday gains, on concern over whether major crude producers will be able to agree to extend record output cuts.

Some journalists in Imo state on Wednesday took to the streets of Owerri, the state capital, protesting against incessant attacks on members of the profession by some politicians in the state.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), said it will embark on a mass protest to seek justice for Uwaila Omozuwa and Bello Barakat, who were both reported to have been raped and killed by their rapists.

 

Africa Daily News reported that Uwaila, a student of the University of Benin was murdered by her rapists inside a Redeemed Christian Church of God in Benin while she was reading.

A few days after, Bello Barakat, a student of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Oyo State was also reportedly killed in similar circumstance.

His Warrant of Release was signed by Justice Liman and transmitted to prison authorities.

Fourth Mainland Bridge: Lagos Announces When Construction Will Start

Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, has announced that the construction of Fourth Mainland Bridge will start in the first quarter of 2021.

He disclosed this on Tuesday during ‘Covinspiration’, an online session marking the one year anniversary of the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu government.
