Osimhen Father’s Death: Lille Offers Private Jet For Burial In Nigeria

French Ligue 1 side,Lille, have offered Victor Osimhen a private jet to bring him back home and be with his family following the death of his father.

Osimhen announced the death of his father, Patrick, via Twitter on Sunday.

“RIP dad. No words to describe this feeling,” Osimhen tweeted.

The Nigeria Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick also commiserated with the former Sporting Charleroi star.

“I have spoken to Victor Osimhen and expressed the sorrow of the NFF and the entire Nigerian Football family,” Pinnick said.

The United States has rejected the clean bill given Dr. Akinwumi Adesina by the African Development Bank (AfDB) ethics committee, over corruption allegations.

Instead, the U.S. has called for an independent probe, thus upending AfDB’s board decision to end an investigation against Adesina.

In a letter dated May 22 and addressed to Niale Kaba, chairwoman of the bank’s board of governors, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said the Treasury disagreed with findings by the bank’s ethics committee that “totally exonerated” Adesina.

Kaba confirmed receipt of the document and declined further comment, according to Bloomberg.

The Rivers State government has cautioned anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, against overstepping its bounds on issues concerning the State.

A report published by a national daily, titled; “How Rivers officials withdrew ₦118b in cash – EFCC”, had revealed details of an ongoing investigation by the EFCC.

According to the report, “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is requesting, for its interrogation, the release of three officials of the Rivers State Government, who are implicated in the alleged illegal withdrawal of N118billion public funds.
