George Floyd: Minnesota Police Arrest Dozens Of Protesters

The Minneapolis Police Department has arrested no less than 40 people during a demonstration over the death of George Floyd.

Floyd, an African-American man had died on Monday evening after a white police officer knelt on his neck, obstructing his breathing. According to the footage, Floyd repeatedly told the officer that he could not breathe.

Protesters marched down to City Hall, chanting slogans against police violence including: “No justice, no peace” and “I can’t breathe” – Floyd’s words while being pinned to the ground.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said that there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be transmitted through an infected nursing mother to her child via breast milk.

In a statement by WHO on its website, nursing mothers are encouraged to continue breastfeeding their babies despite the pandemic.

NCDC Raises Alarm As Test Kits Flood Black Markets

The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu, has said that COVID-19 diagnostic test kits are being sold in “black markets”.

Ihekweazu stated this while speaking at the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 briefing on Thursday.

Nigeria’s Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has warned that States that refuse to comply with certain Executive Orders may have their funds withheld.

He said this while explaining the Executive Orders recently signed by President Muhammadu Buhari.
