Bjorn Branngard’s mother died in a Stockholm nursing home where five of the eight people in her section and more than a third of residents have so far succumbed to the new coronavirus.

“They didn’t have time to take care of my mother,” he told AFP.

Britain could introduce a 14-day mandatory quarantine for international arrivals to stem the spread of coronavirus, an airline association said Saturday, sparking alarm in an industry already hard hit by the global pandemic.

Tim Alderslade, chief executive of Airlines UK, the trade body for UK-registered airlines, confirmed to AFP that the government had approached it with the idea.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson could unveil the measure on Sunday evening, media reports said, when he sets out his roadmap for easing a nationwide lockdown imposed in late March to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Russian Coronavirus Cases Shoot Over 200,000

Russian coronavirus cases continued their upward trajectory on Sunday as another 11,012 new infections were recorded.

This took the nationwide tally to 209,688.

It was the eight day in a row that the country registered over 10,000 cases.

Russia’s coronavirus taskforce said 88 people had died in the past day.

This also pushed the national death toll to 1,915.

Russian coronavirus cases last week overtook French and German infections.

Athens Airbnb host Romina Tsitou says she may have to put her two apartments in Koukaki district up for long-term rental if the pandemic drags on.
