Joe Biden Wins Democratic Primary In Kansas

Joe Biden has won a Democratic presidential primary in Kansas conducted wholly by mail because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Joe Biden had been likely to prevail in Saturday’s vote and get a majority of the state’s delegates to take forward to the Democrats’ national nominating commission.

He took 77% of the vote.

The US presidential vote and congressional elections are scheduled to take place on 3 November. The Republican party is expected to propose Donald Trump for a second term.

Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. reported a record $49.75 billion first-quarter net loss on Saturday at the annual general meeting.

The loss reflected huge unrealised losses on common stock holdings such as Bank of America Corp and Apple Inc during the market meltdown.

While quarterly operating profit rose 6%, several larger businesses including the BNSF railroad posted declines.

Twins of popular Oyo Islamic cleric, Alhaji Taofeek Akewugbagold have been released barely 8 days after they were abducted.

This is coming days after the abductors demanded for £100,000 which is equivalent to N55 million for the release of the children.

The twins, a boy and a girl who are children of Sheikh Taofeeq Akewugbagold were kidnapped by gunmen in Ibadan, the state capital of Oyo state about a week ago.

Nigeria has recorded 220 new cases of Coronavirus, taking its total figures to 2,388.

According to the figures released by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Saturday, Lagos came back to the top, with 62 new cases of the pandemic, while the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja ramps up 52 new infections.
