CAC Headquarters In Abuja Goes Up In Flames

The Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, headquarters in Maitama, Abuja has been gutted by fire.

Firefighters were seen battling the inferno.

The fire engulfed the last floor of the seven-storey building, destroying valuables and other items.

This is coming barely a week after the office of the Accountant General of the Federation went up in flames.

The Registrar-General of the CAC, Alhaji Garba Abubakar, confirmed the incident stating that there was no loss of document or lives.

Spain Wednesday recorded 523 coronavirus-related deaths in the past 24 hours.

The figure released by the Health Ministry bolstered evidence that the country was on the verge of recovery.

It brings the total fatalities to nearly 18,579.

The number is down from a peak of more than 900 daily victims in previous weeks.

New infections rose slightly in comparison to Tuesday, bringing the overall number of confirmed cases to 177,600.

Global coronavirus cases crossed the 2 million mark early Wednesday as China and Latin American countries reported new infections.

The global total reached 2,005,564 as at 09.00 GMT.

Death toll from the 210 countries and territories affected by the virus, is also over 126,600.

Thailand reported 30 new coronavirus cases and 2 deaths on Wednesday.

According to Taweesin Wisanuyothin, a spokesman for the government’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration 19 patients were linked to previous cases, and three had no links to old cases.
