Queen Elizabeth To Broadcast Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Queen Elizabeth will make an extremely rare broadcast to Britons on Sunday as the country grapples with the coronavirus outbreak.

“Her Majesty The Queen has recorded a special broadcast to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth in relation to the coronavirus outbreak,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

The address, which was recorded at Windsor Castle where the 93-year-old monarch is hibernating with her husband Prince Philip, will be broadcast at 1900 GMT on Sunday.

Oprah Winfrey on Thursday splashed $10 million in donations to coronavirus relief efforts in the United States.

The food fund set up by Leonardo DiCaprio and Lauren Powell Jobs is one of the beneficiaries of her generosity. The fund is backed by Apple and Ford Foundation.

DiCaprio and Lauren have committed $12million.

According to reports,Oprah Winfrey donated $1million to the fund.

The Food Fund will supply food to hard-hit communities.

The Mexican brewer of Corona beer said it was suspending production because of the health emergency in the country over the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grupo Modelo — whose brands also include Pacifico and Modelo — said the measure was in line with the Mexican government’s order.
