South American Countries Unite To Combat Coronavirus

Eight South American countries have agreed to a regional alliance ”PROSUR” to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus.

President Lenin Moreno of Ecuador wrote on Twitter that Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Colombia, Peru, Guyana, and Ecuador have agreed to ‘unify measures for the entry of people into each country’.

Covid-19: We Recommend Paracetamol, Not Ibuprofen – WHO

People, who suspect they have caught the novel coronavirus, should not take the popular drug ibuprofen without consulting a doctor, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said.

WHO gave the warning, on Tuesday, pointing to the ongoing research into possible negative effects.

WHO’s spokesman, Christian Lindmeier, told a Geneva news conference that there are no recent studies that link the anti-inflammatory drug with increased mortality rates, but he added that experts are currently investigating the matter.

“We recommend paracetamol, not ibuprofen in self-medication,’’ Lindmeier said.

Delta Airlines on Tuesday announced its plans to reduce its flight operations’ capacity by 15 per cent following the spread of Coronavirus to the country.

Third Coronavirus Case Confirmed In Lagos

A third case of coronavirus has been confirmed in Lagos, Nigeria.

The state’s Commissioner of Health, Akin Abayomi, revealed this at a press briefing on Tuesday.

Her identity is given as a 30-year-Nigerian lady and her case is “independent of the index case”.

She returned from the UK on March 13 and was under self-isolation, where she developed symptoms and eventually tested positive.
