Fact Check: Has Putin Released Lions On Russia Streets?

Social media went on frenzy on Sunday as some reports claimed that Vladimir Putin has ordered a release of around 500 lions on the streets of Russia to ensure that people remain inside their houses during the coronavirus outbreak.

Pictures and Videos of lions on a street were being circulated and a tweet also claimed that “Vladimir Putin has given Russians two options. You stay at home for 2 weeks or you go to jail for 5years. No middle ground.”

COVID-19: MTN Orders Staff To Work From Home

As part of the precautionary measures to stop the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), MTN Nigeria has directed its team to start working from home from today.

According to a statement released by Mr Funso Aina, the telcos Senior Manager, External Relations, from March 23, workers are expected to perform their duties from home.

Aina said that the telcos operations would continue to run at full scale with essential staff working limited hours on-site.

Jailed Harvey Weinstein Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Harvey Weinstein, disgraced Hollywood mogul in prison in northern New York state, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, US media reported Sunday.

Harvey Weinstein, 68, is spending 23 years in jail for rape and sexual assault.

The fallen film producer’s diagnosis was first reported Sunday evening by local paper the Niagara Gazette.

Weinstein’s spokespeople have declined to comment to US media on the subject.

The New York state Department of Corrections has not confirmed the reports.

Weinstein was transferred Wednesday to a prison near Buffalo, 350 miles (560 kilometres) northwest of New York City.

They are closing all their outlets in Ireland as well, until further notice.
