Akon Blasts Govts, Politicians, Making ‘Fake’ Promises

As cases of COVID-19 continue to increase, Popular Singer, Akon on Thursday took a swipe at politicians and governments.

Akon called out politicians for making promises to help those out of work and families in need without fulfilling them.

According to him, no one has got any money from those that promised.

He wrote: “Politicians and governments around the world are promising billions and even trillions to help people out of work, families in need.

“No one has seen a dime yet.”

The Minister of State, Labour and Productivity, Festus Keyamo, has said God allowed Coronavirus to afflict humanity so they can retrace their steps back to him.

Keyamo urged Nigerians to ask God for forgiveness and follow the directives of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Salihu Ex-NNPC Depot Staff Fined ₦1m For ₦6Bn Theft

Abdulkadir Mohammed Salihu, a former sales assistant of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Kaduna Depot on Wednesday got a kid-glove treatment from a Nigerian court.

Justice Z. B Abubakar of the Federal High Court, Kaduna gave Salihu a N1 million fine or a three-year jail term after a proven theft of over N6billion from the NNPC.

After the assets seized from him were added, it did not appear Salihu got a full measure of retribution for his offence.
