Coronavirus Could Create Bed Shortage In US Hospitals

Coronavirus Could Create Bed Shortage In US Hospitals

Beds, ventilators and masks soon could all be in short supply in US hospitals rocked by the novel coronavirus, with doctors worrying they may have to start choosing which patients to treat.

“You have seen empty shelves in grocery stores,” and the stress created by the lack of toilet paper, said Thomas Tsai, a surgeon and assistant professor at Harvard’s School of Public Health.

China on Wednesday expelled American journalists at the New York Times, the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal in the Communist government’s most severe move against foreign media in recent memory.

The foreign ministry said in a statement the measure was in retaliation for Washington’s decision to cut the number of Chinese nationals allowed to work for Chinese state-run media on American soil.

The announcement comes as the two countries are feuding over the deadly coronavirus pandemic, with President Donald Trump defiantly calling it the “Chinese virus” and a senior official in Beijing promoting conspiracy theories of US involvement.…

US And China Trade Barbs Over Coronavirus

US President Donald Trump doubled down Tuesday on calling the coronavirus spreading rapidly across the world the “Chinese Virus,” despite protests from Beijing.

Trump indicated that another motive was payback for what he said was China’s disinformation campaign blaming the US military for the virus.

“China was putting out information which was false,” he said.

“I didn’t appreciate the fact that China was saying that our military gave it to them. Our …
