FRSC Warns Drivers Against Using Earpiece

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ikeja Unit Command, on Sunday warned Nigerians against the use of earpiece while driving.

The Assistant Route Commander, Mr Olukayode Ayoola, who gave the warning in Lagos, said that use of earpiece by drivers had caused countless accidents.
Ayoola wad sensitising some Christians to road safety rules at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Court of His Majesty, Abesan, Ipaja, Lagos.
He said that accidents had occurred due to the use of earpiece because drivers did not hear necessary caution horning.

Zimbabwe’s defence minister Oppah Muchinguri has described the coronavirus pandemic as a “punishment” to the US and Europe.

Muchinguri said this while speaking at a rally in the northern town of Chinhoyi on Saturday.

According to her, it’s a punishment to Europe for imposing sanctions against members of the ruling regime over human rights abuses.

Many people have been feared dead and over 70 houses destroyed in Sunday’s pipeline explosion which rocked Abule Ado area of Ojo, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

Breaking: Houses Collapse As Explosion Rocks Lagos

Some residents of Lagos State were on Sunday morning thrown into confusion following an explosion.

 

Africa Daily News learnt that several houses were shaken by the explosion, while some collapsed at Abule-Ado junction.

It was learnt that the explosion came from Abule-Ado junction, Amuwo Odofin local government, Lagos.

The cause of the explosion has however, not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

Confirming the explosion, the Federal Service took to its Twitter page advising resident to stay away from the affected site.

Yekini Nabena, Deputy National Publicity Secretary, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Saturday, said that the Deputy National Secretary of the party, Chief Victor Giadom, is not a member of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

He said Giadom officially resigned his position in the National Working Committee (NWC) to contest as running mate to the party’s 2019 governorship candidate in Rivers State, Tonye Cole.

This was as a result of a social media outcry after a video of them refusing to serve Nigerians went viral. This prompted further investigations and closure of the restaurant.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Saturday, mourned the death of Insp. Ali Gomina. The deceased was an escort rider attached to his office.

United States President, Donald Trump has tested negative for the deadly coronavirus.

Trump who recently held a meeting with Brazilian officials who tested positive to the virus, was tested for the virus on Saturday.

CNN reports that a statement from the White House said Trump took the test after coming into recent contact with two individuals who have tested positive for the virus.
