A bill for an act to immune lawmakers from prosecution on words spoken during legislative proceedings passed second reading in the Senate on Wednesday.

The bill which was sponsored by Senator Bamidele Opeyemi representing Ekiti Central Senatorial district will constitutionalize immunity of lawmakers instead of the provision of ethnics and privileges act.

Osinkolu: Oshiomhole Shouldn’t Take Nigerians For Granted

The Director General , Buhari/Osinbajo Presidential Campaign Council in Ekiti State in the 2019 poll, Dr. Olusegun Osinkolu, has advised the National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress to stabilize the party ahead of 2023.

Osinkolu said the party must heed the warning of President Muhammadu Buhari so it doesn’t collapse after 2023 due to internal squabbles.

Kano State Government has stated that it did not banish the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II after his dethronement.

Anambra State Police Command has begun recruiting Special Constables for the community policing project earlier approved by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar.

Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries has reacted to the dethronement and subsequent detention of former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi.

Johnson Suleman said though the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje has the powers to dethrone Sanusi, but has “no right to detain” the former Emir.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says the ongoing trial of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, is being frustrated by witnesses from the SGF’s office.

Lawal is facing trial alongside six others in an alleged N544million grass-cutting scandal in an FCT High Court, NAN reports.

Okowa Loses Key Aide Amos Itihwe, Third Aide In One Week

Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta on Tuesday commiserated with the family of Dr Amos Itihwe, one of his Executive Assistants, who died on Monday in Warri.

Itihwe, the EA on Political Matters, is Okowa’s third aide to pass away within one week.

On Monday, Okowa announced the death of two aides, Friday Akpoyibo and Godspower Muemuifo. Both died on March 8 and 4, respectively.
