Reps To Probe Nigeria Immigration Services Over Extortion

The House of Representatives has mandated its committee on Interior to investigate extortion of Nigerians getting passport by personnel of the Nigerian Immigration Services.

The green chamber also urged the Federal Government to investigate all alleged corrupt practices at passport offices.

The resolutions followed a motion by Chinadu Ogah on Thursday. According to Ogah’s motion, immigration officers charge as much as  50,000 for passport instead of the normal rates of  25,000 and  35,000.

18 Corps Members To Repeat NYSC Service In Ebonyi

No fewer than 18 members of the National Youth Service Corps, 2019 Batch C serving in Ebonyi State on Thursday have been directed to repeat service year for allegedly abscondment from service.

The corps members also received various degrees of punishment for flouting the rules and regulations of the scheme.

The State Coordinator of the Corps, Ann Obe stated this during the passing out parade of the batch c Corps members at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium Abakaliki.

Report coming from Dapchi, the headquarters of Bursari Local Government Area of Yobe State revealed that Boko Haram attacked the town on Wednesday evening. According to Channels Television, the suspected Boko Haram members attacked the town which is 100 kilometers from Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.

President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly sacked Dakuku Peterside, an ally to the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi as the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
