Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry, returning to the NBA after four months with a broken left hand, said Thursday he still wants to play at the Tokyo Olympics.

Two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Curry, cleared to play Wednesday by doctors, has missed 58 games since falling on his hand and breaking it on October 30 against Phoenix.

Curry, who helped the US squad to unbeaten world championship runs in 2010 and 2014, was among 44 finalists for the United States Olympic squad announced last month by USA Basketball.

An 18th Century ceremonial crown that resurfaced in the Netherlands after being taken from a church more than 20 years ago has returned to the church it came from.

Debre Medhanit Slase Cheleqo is the church in northern Ethiopia that had originally housed it.

It’s believed the crown was given to the church by feudal lord Ras Weldeselassie hundreds of years ago.

Pope Francis has established the Diocese of Ekwulobia, Anambra State and named Bishop Peter Ebere Okpaleke, the rejected bishop of Ahiara Diocese, Mbaise, as its first Ordinary.

Announcing the appointment Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral, Awka, Catholic bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokafor described it as ‘pleasant surprises.’

He explained that the new Diocese was formed from part of the territory of the Diocese of Awka and would be a suffragan See of the Metropolitan See of Onitsha.

The bishop disclosed that the newly created Diocese would cover Akpu, Ekwuluobia and Achina Regions.

Nigeria’s former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the removal of Dr. Dakuku Peterside, as the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA.

Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Justice M.B. Dongban Mensem as the Acting President of the Court of Appeal.

Buhari disclosed that Mensem’s appointment is for an initial period of three months which takes effect from March 6, 2020, when the incumbent President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, CFR, will statutorily retire from service.
