IG Police Orders Clampdown On Illegal Use of Siren

The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu, yesterday ordered a clampdown on illegal use of siren, revolving lights and spy number plates.

Adamu also directed the Commissioners of Police in the 36 states and FCT to impound all vehicles using illegal spy number plates, siren and revolving lights and ensure diligent prosecution of offenders.

Harvard Awards Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala

Former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has been named the next Angelopoulos Global Public Leaders Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School.

Okonjo-Iweala’s appointment was announced by the Dean of Harvard Kennedy School, Mr. Douglas Elmendorf.

The former minister begins her fellowship this month.

Federal Government has insisted that there is no going back on the implementation of Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) in the public service.

This is coming on the heels of the Academic Staff Union of Universities  (ASUU) insistence to embark on strike despite government’s backing down on its earlier decision to pay January salary via IPPIS platform.

The Federal Government, the United States of America (USA) and the Island of Jersey on Monday signed a tripartite agreement on the return of $318,460,329 looted by late former military Head of State, General Sani Abacha.
