The leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, has sent President Muhammadu Buhari a warning, telling him never to return to Borno.

In a recently released video, the leader of the sect conspicuously told Buhari that his members are fully on ground in the North-East.

Imo PDP, APC Clash In Counter Protest

Imo State was today thrown into confusion as the two rival parties, the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress clashed over the January 14 Supreme Court judgment.

Reporters who took stock of the protest said the rally took off at the popular Ugwu Ekwema along Egbu road and ended at the fire service roundabout where members of APC intercepted the PDP supporters and threatened a showdown.

The PDP protest, according to our reporter, was the third since the supreme court judgement that ousted Chief Emeka Ihedioha as the Governor of Imo state.

Okorocha And Uzodinma Alliance: AA Reps Defect To APC

It appears the new alliance between Sen Rochas Okorocha and his successor, Hope Uzodinma is paying off, as members of the Action Alliance in the House of Representatives have decamped to the All Progressives Congress.

The two lawmakers are Pascal Obi and Kingsly Chuma.

Both Uzodinma and Okorocha have closed ranks following the outcome of the Supreme Court judgement that declared the former as the governor of Imo state.

A Federal High court in Calabar, Cross River State has granted journalist and rights activist, Agba Jalingo a ₦10 million bail.

A new judge, Justice Shuaibu presided over the case for the first time after taking over from Justice Simon Amobeda who recused himself from the case following condemnations that trailed refusals to grant the Journalist bail on three occasions.

In his ruling while granting bail applied by Agba Jalingo, Justice Shuaibu set the bail bond at N10 million with one surety in like sum.

Okorocha Fraudulently Moved ₦112.8bn Into 9 Banks

A committee set up to investigate the finances of the Imo state government under the Rochas Okorocha administration says it has uncovered ₦112.8 billion “dubious debts” owed the state by nine commercial banks.

It said the monies owed by the banks were claims from various infractions, including unexplained debits as well as penalties arising from such, in their dealings with the state government.

Some of the questionable debits from the state’s accounts, according to the panel, are:

  • excess penal claim
  • excess COT charges
  • excess interest on authorised overdraft
  • excess interest collections on loans
  • wrong debits recovery
  • double reversals

Amnesty International Warns Military, IPOB

The Amnesty International on Wednesday, urged security agencies and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, to ensure peace at the burial of parents of leader of the group, Nnamdi Kanu, in Afara Ukwu, Abia State, on Friday.

There have been reported presence of military personnel in the town ahead of the funeral.

In a statement on Wednesday, Osai Ojigho, Country Director of Amnesty International in Nigeria, appealed to the military and members of IPOB to ensure there is no case of violence at the funeral of Kanu’s parents to respect rights of citizens.

Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has reacted as Boko Haram attacked Borno State shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit.

Omokri said the latest attack has exposed Buhari as “clueless” and a decoration.

Recall that the terrorist group had on Sunday stormed Auno village near Maiduguri at about 9:50 pm destroying about 18 vehicles while killing 30 people.

Fire Guts Obasanjo’s House

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s house was said to have caught fire on Wednesday.

The inferno, DAILY POST learnt, started around 9pm on one side of the house, which is located at Ita Eko area of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Our correspondent gathered that fire fighters immediately responded to distress call as they swung into action and succeeded in putting out the fire.

This, it was learnt, prevented the fire from consuming the entire building and escalating to other nearby houses.
