Coronavirus: Uzodinma Orders Activation Of Health Sector

Following the confirmation of one case of the Coronavirus disease (Covid19) in Lagos by the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, the Governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodinma has ordered the activation of all health platforms to protect Imo residents against the dreaded disease.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan as the substantive Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.

Buhari conveyed the appointment in a statement by the Permanent Secretary (General Services Office) in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation OSGF, Olusegun Adekunle on Friday.

Workers’s Union Seeks Minister’s Intervention Over Crisis

The Academic Staff Union of Research Institutions (ASURI) Reformed Group, South East Zone, has urged the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige to intervene in the age-long crisis rocking the national leadership of ASURI.

Buhari Suspends Dokubo As Chairman Of Amnesty Programme

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday, suspended the coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Professor Charles Dokubo.

Buhari also ordered that a Caretaker Committee be set up to review the programme and take over its running henceforth.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina.

The statement said the suspension, which was recommended by the Caretaker Committee, which was set up by the National Security Adviser (NSA), takes immediate effect.

Elder statesman and former Governor of Old Anambra State Chief Jim Nwobodo has waded into the controversy rocking the revocation of a vast estate, the Enugu Centenary City by the State Government.

He spoke at his country home in Amechi yesterday when members and leaders of the two communities came to inform him of their earlier peaceful demonstration in support of Gov. Ugwuanyi’s decision to revoke the land.
