Biafra Group Rejects Community Policing, Blast Govs

Biafra Nations Youth League, BNYL, has rejected a community policing format proposed by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP for the Southeast region.

The BNYL also faulted Southeast leaders for accepting the idea.

National leader of the group, Princewill Chimezie Richard while addressing reporters in Owerri, Imo State capital on Saturday, said that any security still controlled by the Federal government ends in futility.

He lamented decision of the Southeast governors to sideline Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other Pan Igbo organizations who have rejected the proposed community policing.

Russia Sides Sanders As Democratic Rep. Against Trump

A United States Senator, Bernie Sanders on Friday disclosed that the intelligence community had briefed him about Russian efforts to help his presidential campaign and emerge Democratic candidate.

The Washington Post reported the shocker on Friday. It said President Donald Trump and U.S. lawmakers have also been informed.

Russia has been repeatedly accused of interfering in the US 2016 election and there are assumptions that Moscow allegedly helped Trump win then and still wants him in the White House for another four years.

Angry Youths Kill One, Burn Police Vehicle In Jigawa

Police have confirmed the killing of one person while four others have been injured in a clash involving police and a mob in Malam Madori local Government of Jigawa state

Police spokesman Sp Abdu Jinjiri confirmed the incident in Dutse.

He explained that the incident happened when two police officers in a patrol vehicle knocked down a girl on her way home from school while on a hot chase of a vehicle.

He said the incident resulted in commotion and irate youth became violent, killing one person and injuring four passengers travelling in the suspected vehicle.
