Man Who Plotted To Kill President Found Dead

Rwandan gospel singer, Kizito Mihigo, found guilty in 2015 of plotting to kill President Paul Kagame, has been found dead.

A police statement said Mihigo, 38, committed suicide in a cell.

He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for formation of a criminal gang, conspiracy to murder, and conspiracy against the established government and the president.

Mihigo was granted a presidential pardon by Kagame in 2018 but was was rearrested last week when crossing the border into Burundi.

Authorities explained that this was a breach of the conditions of his pardon.

23 Dead As Borno Gov. Zulum Distributes Food To Refugees

Twenty-three people have been feared dead in a stampede during a food distribution by the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum at a refugee camp housing Nigerians in Niger Republic.

Over 120,000 Nigerians displaced by Boko Haram terrorists have taken refuge in Niger Republic.

Officials of the Borno State Government were engaged in the distribution of the food items to Nigerian refugees living in Niger Republic, but Zulum was said to have travelled to Diffa, a border community in Niger Republic, where he met over 120,000 Nigerians who fled their homes some years ago.

COVID: Russia Drags Woman Back Into Quarantine Facility

 

A Russian lady, Alla Illyina was ordered by the court on Monday to be returned to a quarantine facility as a precaution against coronavirus after she staged an elaborate escape and said she was being kept against her will.

She was quarantined at St. Petersburg’s Botkin Hospital for Infectious Diseases after she reported having a sore throat following a trip last month to China, where a coronavirus epidemic has killed more than 1,700 people.

Bayelsa: BMO Demands PDP Apology To CJN

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its leaders should apologise to the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Tanko Mohammed over the invectives they poured on him, the Supreme Court and the judiciary whenever court decisions went against them.

Nigeria’s presidency has issued a red alert about purveyors of fake and concocted news who it said are on overdrive, spreading all manners of fake news about the President Buhari and his family.
