Breaking: Amaechi’s CSO, Iwelu Is Reported Dead

Tony Iwelu, the Chief Security Officer of the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi is dead.

It is unclear how Iwelu died but sources close to the Minister said the DSS Officer died of electrocution at his hotel room in Kaduna.

This comes hours after reports of the attack on Amaechi on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line surfaced online.

Federal Uni Of Medical Sciences Otukpo Passes 2nd Reading

A bill for an act to establish a Federal University of Medical Sciences, Otukpo, Benue State on Tuesday passed second reading in the Senate.

Sponsor of the bill, Senator Patrick Abba Moro representing Benue South Senatorial district, re-presented the bill that was initially sponsored by the former Senate President, David Mark, saying that the institution would bridge the gap associated with medical personnel if approved.

FG To Release ₦6b For Bauchi 2500 Housing Units Project

The Bauchi State Commissioner for Environment and Housing, Honourable Hamisu Muazu Shira says the federal government will soon release funds to the state government for the construction of the proposed 2500 housing units in the state.

He disclosed this while answering questions from journalists during a visit by Governor Bala Mohammed to the Minister of Finance, Hajiya Zainab Ahmed in Abuja.

The Commissioner explained that the minister of finance assured that it will release 6 billion naira out of the 12 billion naira allocated, to ensure the commencement of the project.

NCAA: Senate Confirms Buhari’s Appointee, Nuhu As DG

The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Captain Musa Shuaibu Nuhu for appointment as the Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

Ohanaeze Proposes Establishment Of Special Commando Units

Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, has urged the federal government to set up special Commando units in the nation’s security agencies to intensify the fight against terrorism in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria.

Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, National President, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), on Monday, advocated the review of existing laws on sexual harassment in tertiary institutions.
