EFCC Docks Man For Pilfering Nigeria’s €3.8m

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC docked on Tuesday one Yushua Mohammed Ahmed before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on a four-count charge of stealing €3,808,870, said to be property of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Among other counts, Ahmed was alleged to have, between 29 September, 2010 and 26 October, 2010, in Lagos, converted to his own use €458,425.00 belonging to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Stop Using Saliva As Sex Lubricant – Expert Warns

A medical expert, Dr Kolade Johnson, has warned Nigerians against using saliva as lubricant during sex.

Johnson, who works in a private hospital, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Ilorin that if anyone with mouth sores use saliva as a lubricant, the partner would be exposed to genital herpes.

According to him, using saliva as lubricant during sex could lead to disease like Human Papilo Virus (HPV), syphillis, chlamydia and even gonorrhea.

Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege at a valedictory session on Wednesday revealed that he worked closely with the late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu.

Benjamin Uwajumogu who represented Imo North Senatorial District on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) died on 18th December, 2019.

Boko Haram: Buhari Joins Nigerian Army In Maiduguri

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday arrived Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

The president arrived Maiduguri from Addis Ababa after the signing of visa waiver agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders by Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama and Gedu Andargachew, respectively.

Buhari’s visit was disclosed by his Spokesman, Garba Shehu on his official Twitter page.

2nd Niger Bridge: Julius Berger Gives Completion Date

Julius Berger Plc, which is building the second Niger River Bridge has given a definite time of completing the project which previous administrations had failed to deliver.

JB said the bridge, now being funded by Sovereign Wealth Fund will be ready in February 2022.

Project supervisor, Friedrich Wieser, gave the assurance on Tuesday when the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola inspected the project.

He said the work had reached 23 percent completion, adding that they had 1,300 people working on the Bridge while over 400 were on the site already.

The Pathology laboratory of the ISO-certified 37 Military Hospital in Ghana has finally released the autopsy report for revered Nigerian nationalist, and philanthropist, Chief Dr Olu Benson Lulu-Briggs.

Coronavirus: WHO Warns Of Clusters With No Link To China

The World Health Organisation (WHO) on Wednesday warned of coronavirus “clusters with no apparent link to China”.

Giving the warning, Takeshi Kasai, who is the organisation’s director for Western Pacific, specifically cited local transmissions and said all countries in the region should “prepare for the possibility of wider transmission” of the virus, in a statement released by the WHO.

Malaysia has reported 18 cases of the virus, which the WHO has officially named Covid-19, while neighbouring Singapore’s tally is 47, over half of which are local transmissions.

Pope To Decide On Special Exception To Priestly Celibacy

Pope Francis is expected to decide on Wednesday whether to make a limited exception to the celibacy rule for priests, one of the most controversial issues in the Catholic Church today.
