Ghosn Lawyer Feels Betrayal, Sympathy Over Tycoon’s Escape

A lawyer for former Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn said Saturday he felt betrayed by his client’s escape from Japan but still understood his act, claiming it resulted from Japan’s inhumane justice system.

The international tycoon, who faces multiple charges of financial misconduct that he denies, jumped bail and fled to Lebanon in late December to avoid a Japanese trial.

President Donald Trump warned Saturday that the US is targeting 52 sites in Iran and will hit them “very fast and very hard” if the Islamic republic attacks American personnel or assets.

Philippines President Takes Action After Death Of Soleiman

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday directed the country’s military to prepare to evacuate thousands of Filipinos in Iran and Iraq if hostilities escalate in the Middle East.

Duterte issued the directive during an emergency meeting with defence, military and police officials, said Arsenio Andolong, spokesman for the Department of National Defence.

The Police Command in Enugu State has commenced investigation into an alleged misconduct by four policemen which was shown in a video clip in Enugu metropolis.

A video showing four policeman beating a young man with gun had on Saturday emerged online.

In the video, the policemen were seen chasing, assaulting the young man identified as Justice Obasi for refusing to unlock his phone.
