Beauty Of Igbo Communal Life

An average Igbo man has this belief that Igbo people don’t love one another. He tells whoever cares to listen, that Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba exhibit better traits of love towards their people. To an extent, this appears to be correct. But on a closer look, the situation is not as bad as being painted.

Igbo have a unique system of communal life, which manifests fully during festive periods. Most families do not joke with it. Of course, weddings, house warming, chieftaincy title taking, launching of age grades and masquerade displays are routine. Children particularly like the masquerade aspect of Igbo …

Consequently, the party charged the Federal Government to immediately rescind the increase, which it described as “obnoxious and provocative”, and consult further with the citizens on the issue.

Africa Bleeding From Colonialism

The single, ‘solemn’ sorrow in the hearts of men of conscience and candour is that mankind no longer has value for truth, honour and life. The power and appeal of self (nature), position, wealth, and fame are awesomely overwhelming to a blindfolding and deceptive degree that hell keeps expanding itself every day, and blood seems and counts inferior to the wastes and water in the gutter. And mankind considers it not.

I wish men were acquainted with the path of peace and progress, and had the courage to commune and tread thereon, and the honour to utter and defend the …
