Lack Of Exclusive Breastfeeding Could Lead To Diabetes

A medical expert, Dr Bala Abawa, says lack of exclusive breastfeeding in the baby’s first six months can expose them to the risk of type 1 diabetes mellitus later in life.

Abawa told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Wednesday in Jos, that breast milk contains antibodies which could prevent infections such as diarrhoea, caused by bacteria and viruses.

“The baby before six months is not capable of producing immunoglobulin; that is antibodies. The first breast milk called colostrum, contains it to fight such infections,” he explained.

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and the governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) in the state during the last election, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, have mourned Hon. Saibu Adeosun.

The duo of Abiodun and Akinlade, in separate statements, described Adeosun’s death as a great loss to his family, friends and political associates as well as the All Progressives Congress in Ipokia Local Government and Ogun State in general.

We’ve Slapped US On The Face – Iran Reacts To Attack

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has described the missile attack on US bases on Wednesday as a slap on America’s face.

Khamenel said the US should withdraw from the region, adding that Iran’s missile attacks on US was just the beginning of more attacks to follow.

Iranian state television has quoted a senior Revolutionary Guards Corps as claiming that at least 80 “American terrorists” were killed in missile attacks on US bases on Wednesday.

Iran launched 15 missiles on US targets in Iraq in retaliation for the death of Qassem Soleimani, who was buried on Wednesday.

The television added that none of the missiles were intercepted by US troops, according to Al Jazeera.

Iran Vows Not To Release Black Boxes Of Plane Crash

Iran has vowed not to release the black box of Ukrainian Boeing-737 with 180 people on board which crashed in the country.

The aircraft belonging to Ukraine International Airlines crashed just after take-off from Iran’s Imam Khomeini airport.

The crash happened at a time when Iran was threatening to go to war with the United States over the killing of General Qasem Soleimani.

Iran Vs US: America Reportedly Withdraws Troops From Kuwait

Kuwait’s Defense Minister on Wednesday said it has received a letter from the Commander-in-Chief of a U.S. military camp in Kuwait “declaring imminent withdrawal of all U.S. military forces in three days,”

The state news agency, KUNA quoted the minister as saying, “Receiving such [a] letter from Camp Arifjan was unexpected and we are communicating with U.S. Department of Defense for more details and information.”

But, Kuwait’s government in reaction said that a Wednesday report of a U.S. troop withdrawal is incorrect and that the state news agency was hacked.

Air France on Wednesday announced the suspension of flight through Iranian and Iraqi airspace until further notice.

This is coming after Iran fired ballistic missiles on bases housing US troops in Iraq.
