Iran Minister Hints On New Deal With World Powers

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif, said on Wednesday that an existing nuclear deal the country struck with world powers was not dead

He said he was unsure if any new pact agreed by U.S. President Donald Trump would last.

“The United States didn’t implement (the existing deal’s) …commitments, now it has withdrawn.

“I had a U.S. deal and the U.S. broke it.

“If I have a Trump deal, how long will it last?’’ Mohammad Javad Zarif said at a security conference in New Delhi.

Remembrance Day: Buhari, Osinbajo, Honours Fallen Heroes

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday led other top government functionaries, including service chiefs and members of the diplomatic corps to honour the nation’s fallen and living heroes.

The event, which involved the laying of wreaths at the National Arcade, was one of the highlights lined up to celebrate the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration (AFRDC).

Amotekun: Akeredolu Reacts As Govt Declares Outfit ‘Illegal

Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu has reacted to the statement by the federal government describing south-west security outfit ‘Operation Amotekun’ as illegal.

In a statement signed by the Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Dr Umar Gwandu, the government said the establishment of Amotekun is not backed by any known law in the land.

FRSC, Oyo Command Apprehends 1,775 Traffic Offenders

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Oyo State says it has arrested 1,775 traffic offenders since the commencement of the on-going “Operation Zero Tolerance” in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that “Operation Zero Tolerance” started in Dec. 16, 2019 and would end on Jan.19.

The FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Mrs Uche Chukwurah, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ibadan.

Chukwurah said that out of those arraigned before a mobile court at Apata, Ibadan, 37 were convicted and six others cautioned and discharged.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has not received the certified true copy of the Tuesday Supreme Court Judgment on Imo governorship election.

The apex court had on Tuesday removed Gov Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and declared the All Progressive Congress, APC’s Hope Uzodinma as the Governor of Imo State.

Delivering the judgment, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun said 236,000 votes due to Uzodinma and APC from 318 polling units were wrongly excluded and should be added.
