Herdsmen Shoot Gov. Ortom In Benue

The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has narrated how he narrowly escaped death after suspected herdsmen shot at him in his farm.

The Governor said he was shot while in his farm located along Makurdi – Naka road in Makurdi, Benue state capital.

Ortom, who spoke to journalists in Makurdi on Monday, reiterated his call for arrest and prosecution of the leadership of Meyitta Allah for allegedly instigating violence against farmers in the state.

Imo: APGA Expels Senator Araraume For Anti-Party Activities

The caretaker committee chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Imo State, John Iwuala, has said that the party has expelled Senator Ifeanyi Araraume.

Iwuala said that the senator who represented Imo North between 1999 and 2007 and was the APGA governorship candidate during the 2019 election in Imo State was guilty of alleged anti-party activities.

Araraume had publicly pledged to work with the governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma, who is a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress.

Court Grants Shehu Sani ₦10 Million Bail

Senator Shehu Sani has been granted Ten Million naira (₦10m) bail by a Federal High Court in Abuja. Sani who represented Kaduna Central, in the 8th senate was accused of collecting money in the name of the EFCC acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu.

A source familiar with the arrest told journalists that Mr Sani was arrested following a leak that he collected money from a popular Kaduna businessman to give Mr Magu.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State has reacted to the resignation of its chairman, Chief Charles Ezekwem from the party.

NAN had reported that the Imo State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Charles Ezekwem on Monday, announced his resignation from the party.

EFCC Vs Maina: Again, Court Fails To Deliver Judgement

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Monday, again failed to deliver ruling on Abdulrasheed Maina, ex-chairman, defunct Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT)’s application for variation of his bail conditions.

Justice Okon Abang, who made this known during the proceeding, attributed the reason to heavy workload on the court.
