A Muslim group, Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria has faulted the establishment of Western Nigeria Security Outfit popularly known as Operation Amotekun by Southwest governors.

2M Child Deaths Can Be Averted If Pneumonia Is Controlled

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said on Wednesday that two million children will die of pneumonia in Nigeria in the next 10 years unless more is done to fight the dreaded diseases.

UNICEF in a statement in Birnin Kebbi by its Communication, Advocacy and Partnership Specialist, Malam Rabiu Musa, said that malnutrition, air pollution and lack of access to vaccines and antibiotics were among the drivers of preventable deaths from pneumonia, which killed a child every three minutes in the country, NAN reports.

Kobe Bryant: All Nine Bodies Now Recovered From Crash

Los Angeles authorities said it has recovered all nine bodies from the helicopter crash that Killed Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, the medical examiner’s office announced on Tuesday.

The deceaseds have been transported from the Calabasas crash site to the department’s Forensic Science Center for examination and identification, New York Post reports.

Responders recovered the first three bodies from the crash site Sunday and removed the next six victims Monday.

The department said it will post updates to its official Twitter page.

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) on Tuesday sealed off Panda Supermarket located in Jabi area of the Federal Capital Territory for displaying and selling contraband and expired food items.

The Federal Government on Tuesday in Abuja inaugurated the governing board of the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS), to formulate policies and set targets for the institute.

The Federal Government has maintained that it is winning the war against corruption in Nigeria.

An abandoned Federal Government’s electricity plant, worth hundreds of millions of naira, has been razed at Oke-Agbe, in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

How ICPC ‘Lied’ – Pinnacle Fires Back At Commission

Pinnacle Communications has described the allegation of task invasion made against it by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) as misleading, untrue and aimed at hurting its impeccable image.

ICPC had threatened legal action against 44 property owners including two buildings in Abuja belonging to Pinnacle Communications Ltd, citing indebtedness to Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS. It also denied invading the office of the firm without a warrant.
