We Won’t Allow Breakdown Of Law, Order – Oyo

Oyo State Government, yesterday, said it will not allow any group of persons to throw the state into crisis due to ongoing debate on the management of local governments.

The state, in a statement, insisted on the observance of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) in relation to the ongoing controversy surrounding dissolution of the 68 illegal council chairmen in the state.

It warned some individuals who have been threatening to derail the peace of the state to desist from such ruinous path or face the full wrath of the law.

Borno Builds ₦1bn Mega Schools

Borno government is to invest about ₦1 billion in the construction of two mega-schools in Maiduguri.

Commissioner for information, Alhaji Babakura Abba-Jatto, in a press briefing said the State Executive Council had approved N400 million for each of the schools to be sited in Njimtilo and Gwange in Maiduguri metropolis.

He said each of the school is designed as a storey building comprising  60 classrooms with ICT.  He said the mega schools would take care of the needs of hundreds of students in the area.

The candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won the re-run elections in most of the 11 states where elections were conducted on Saturday.

Human Trafficking: Immigration ‘Arrest 7 Girls’

The Operatives of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Command in Lagos, have apprehended seven girls allegedly being trafficked.

The Service Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday James made the disclosure in a statement to NAN on Sunday.

James said the girls were on their way to Cairo, Dubai and Oman on Emirates and Egypt airlines.
