Nobody Can Unseat Obaseki – Governor Umahi

Ebonyi Governor, David Umahi on Friday assured Godwin Obaseki will be re-elected Governor of Edo state.

He said nothing will stop the Governor’s re-election because he has done well and deserves to continue in office.

Obaseki is a member of the All Progressive Congress(APC) while Umahi is a member of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Umahi was addressing Obaseki’s wife, Betsy and other Southern Governors’ Wife’s who were on a courtesy call to him in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State Capital.

Obiano Announces Payment Of New Minimum Wage In Anambra

Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has announced that he will pay the new minimum wage, starting from Jan. 26.

Obiano made the declaration while inspecting the 5.3Km Eziowelle-Umunnachi-Afor Igwe roads in Idemili South and Dunukofia local government areas.

According to him, the new minimum wage implementation will improve socio-economic status of the state and boost the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

He stressed that the economic importance of the implementation of the new minimum wage, pointing out that improved welfare of workers was top priority of his administration.

One Person Hospitalised As Explosion Rocks Houston

A large explosion, on Friday, jolted the U.S. city of Houston, with authorities saying at least one person had been hospitalised.

The blast, which was believed to be an industrial facility, shattered windows of nearby buildings and was felt kilometres away.

Smoke and flames could be seen from the site in the North-West of the city.

The Houston Fire Department said emergency responders’ cordon-off the area, before transporting the injured person to the hospital, NAN reports.

Less than 12 hours to the rerun elections in Essien Udim local government area of Akwa Ibom state, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state has announced its decision to withdraw from the race.

We Admitted Results By Uzodimma Because INEC Didn’t Object

The Supreme Court has explained why it accepted the results sheets presented by the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma.

The apex court disclosed that the result sheets by Uzodinma became admissible because the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, did not counter them when produced by the APC governor.
