‘Withdraw Treason Charges Against Kanu’ – IYA To Buhari

A group, Ibeku Youth Assembly (IYA) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government to allow the leader of the proscribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, return home and bury his late parents, Eze Isreal Kanu and Ugoeze Sally Kanu.

The youth group pointed out that any attack on the IPOB leader by Nigeria security operatives if he surfaces for the funeral of his late parents, may spring up avoidable war, which it opined will lead to the final death of Nigeria as a democratic nation.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Imo State has directed its members to support the new All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the best interest of the state.

Ihedioha: Women In Black Protest Supreme Court Judgment

 

Supporters of Emeka Ihedioha, former governor of Imo, flooded the streets of Owerri, the state capital, on Sunday, demanding a reversal of the supreme court judgement which ordered his sack.

The apex court had on Tuesday ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to return Hope Uzodinma, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as winner of the March election.

Uzodinma placed a distant fourth in the results announced by INEC.

The aggrieved protesters wielded placards with inscriptions such as: “Ihedioha We Know’; “Democracy Has Been Murdered”; “We Want Him Back”, among others.

BBNaija’s Gedoni Gets Political Appointment

Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, has appointed ex-Big Brother Naija housemate, Gedoni Ekpata, as his Special Assistant on Garment Factory and Branding.

Gedoni’s fiancée, who was also a fellow housemate on the reality show, Khafi Kareem, announced the appointment on her Instagram page.

She wrote, ”@gedoni has been appointed as the Special Assistant to Governor Ben Ayade on Garment Factory and Branding.”

2023 Presidency: Okupe Reveals Only Way PDP Can Defeat APC

Doyin Okupe, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has called on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to change its name.

Sotitobire: 39-Yr-Old Man Remanded Over Missing Child

A 39-year-old Chibuzor Elike was on Monday remanded at the Olokuta Correctional Facility over his claim of having in his custody, Gold Kolawole, the one-year-old, boy who got missing at the Sotitobire Miracle Centre Akure in November 2019.

Elike, who was arraigned before a Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Akure on a three count charge, was last week arrested by detectives from the Ondo State Police Command in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

2020 UTME: Police Arrest Four Agents Over JAMB Form Fraud

Four agents of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have been arrested by the examination body.

They were arrested for selling the ePINS for the ongoing 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Direct Entry (DE) registrations above the stipulated amount.

The suspects were identified as Abdulrazak Adiza, Mathew Joe, Obekee Godday and Inyang Patrick.

JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin who confirmed the arrest in a statement said the cost of the ePINs is N3500 while that of the reading text is N500.

Tension is currently rising among residents of Ondo State over the outbreak of lassa fever in the state.

Sokoto: Wike Commends Gov Tambuwal’s Victory

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has reacted to the Supreme Court judgement affirming the election of Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State.

 

The Supreme Court had struck out the appeal brought by Ahmed Aliyu of APC challenging the last governorship election in the state.

NIS Gives Entry Requirements For Non-Nigerians

Mr. Muhammad Babandede, Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has revealed the entry requirements for non-Nigerian travelling to Nigeria.

Babandede gave the requirements in a statement by Mr Sunday James, the Service Public Relations Officer, on Tuesday and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

According to him, ECOWAS citizens and countries with visa abolition agreement with Nigeria require no visa for entry into Nigeria.
