The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Imo State has directed its members to support the new All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the best interest of the state.

 

At the meeting in Owerri which had in attendance the APGA Chairman, Henry Okafor, its governorship candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume and other top officials, the party said following the recent development in the state, it is collapsing its structure into the APC in the state to form a coalition.

Fresh Female Army Recruit Found Dead In Lovers House

A 23-year-old lady, Patience Amos, has died in the hands of her boyfriend in the Adamawa State capital, Yola.

The decomposing body of Patience was found in the boyfriend’s room days after she died, perceivably after a violent argument.

Neighbours said they heard voices of Patience and the boyfriend, Ali Wakil, at his residence in Damilu in the Jimeta area of Yola, but did not take it for anything that might turn fatal.

A former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has extended birthday wishes to former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, as he turns 87 years on January 18.

The Nigerian military says no fewer than 608 repentant Boko Haram insurgents are currently undergoing De-radicalisation, Rehabilitation and Reintegration (DRR) Programme by Operation Safe Corridor (OSC) at Malam-Sidi, Gombe State.

Brig:- Gen. Musa Ibrahim, Commandant DRR Camp OSC, made this known when the Managing Director, North East Development Commission (NEDC), Mohammed Alkali visited the camp on Saturday.

Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday said it lost the state to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because God wanted to test the party.

A former governor of old Kaduna State, Balarabe Musa, has said that the main reason the leaders and governors of the Southwest region set up the new security outfit, Operation Amotekun was to create Oduduwa Republic.

NAN reported that Governors in the South West region had established and inaugurated the security outfit to curb the menace of herdsmen attacks in their region.

Simon Mallam, Nigerian Prof Killed In Gas Explosion Buried

The remains of late Prof. Simon Mallam who died in a gas explosion in Sabo Tasha, Kaduna have been laid to rest in his hometown, Malagum, Kaura Local Government, Kaduna State.

Mallam, a Professor of Nuclear Physics at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, was until his death, the Chairman of Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.

He was among the eight persons killed in the gas explosion on Jan. 4, 2020.

Mallam’s remains were laid to rest on Saturday, after a funeral Service held at the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Malagum.

Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has said his party deserved the victory handed it by the Supreme Court in the Imo State governorship election.

Border Closure: Customs Seize 42 Bags Of Foreign Rice

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) says it has intercepted 42 bags of foreign rice at Kankara axis of Katsina State.

The Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO), Mr Sunday James, who disclosed this in a statement made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Saturday in Abuja, said that it was concealed in a vehicle.

James said that the officers were on routine patrol along the Kankara axis when they apprehended a vehicle carrying the contraband.
