Former Vice President and the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has been challenged to show integrity, honour and discipline in his contractual relationships, either with individuals, groups or corporate entities.

Giving this advice in a statement, the Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) said recent exposure of Atiku by the staff of his communication company and consultants hired from foreign media companies does not portray Atiku as a man of integrity.

NVFCB orders cinemas to stop showing Sugar Rush movie

The National Film and Video Censors Board has ordered cinemas nationwide to stop showing a recently released movie, Sugar Rush.

The NVFCB, Executive Director, Adedayo Thomas, however, told newsmen that the movie was not suspended because of some scenes found to portray the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission as an incompetent organisation.

The film, which has grossed about N160m since its release on December 25, 2019, was directed by Kayode Kasum and largely publicised by singer Bankole Wellington aka Banky W and wife, Adesua.

Kwara Govt Bans Preaching In Public Schools

Kwara State government has kicked against preaching by religious groups in public schools.

The government in a statement on Monday, signed by Hajia Fatimoh Bisola Ahmed, Hon. Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, banned preaching in all public schools henceforth.

The Ministry directed that prayers should be said silently on the morning Assembly across public schools in the state.

Outrage As Council Boss Empowers Youths With Wheelbarrows

The Transition Committee Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs. Chinwe Ugwu has drawn the ire of residents of Enugu State and beyond after she rolled out a wheelbarrow empowerment program.

DAILY SUN reports that Ugwu is one of the chairmen that were appointed last December, ahead of the Local Government election slated for February this year.

Gunmen Kidnap District Head In Kano

Unknown gunmen have kidnapped the district head of Karshi town, Alhaji Adamu Muhammad (sarkin Yamma) in Rogo local government area of Kano State.

The incident happened on Monday, in Karshi town, at about 3:00 a.m. and whisked away the district head.

The suspected kidnappers are yet to contact any member of the family for ransom for the release of the victim.

Spokesman, Kano State police command confirmed the incident to THISDAY.
