Lassa Fever: Enugu Govt Confirms Death Of Pregnant Woman

The Enugu State Government, Friday, confirmed that a pregnant woman has died of Lassa Fever in the State.

DAILY POST earlier reported that a patient died of the disease at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku Ozalla.

On the whole, 6 suspected cases were reported out of which 3 were confirmed.
The third victim, a 24 year old female youth corper, who just returned from Benue State survived the attack and is responding to treatment.

‘There’s No Money In Our State’ – Abiodun Tells Indigenes

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has said there is not enough funds in the state treasury to embark on some projects.

Abiodun, however, said his administration is making concerted efforts to boost the state’s internally generated revenue, so as to give the dividends of democracy to all and sundry.

Minister of Youth and Sport Development, Sunday Dare has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for implementing the increase in the monthly allowance of Youth Corp members

The Federal government on Friday began the payment of N33,000 monthly allowance to corps members.

Ex-Benue Gov Suswam Transferred ₦3.1bn To Me – Witness

An Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) star witness, on Friday alleged that Gabriel Suswam, former Governor of Benue, transferred ₦3.1 billion into his account.

Mr Abubakar Umar, an Abuja-based Bureau De Change (BDC) Operator, told Justice Okon Abang at the Federal High Court, Abuja that the money was transferred through a company, Elixir Investment, in bits into his company, Fanffash Resources at the Zenith Bank.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Suswam and the then Commissioner for Finance in his administration, Omadachi Oklobia, are being prosecuted before the court on N3.1 billion money laundering charges.

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, on Friday, expressed optimism that the Supreme Court would not reverse its judgment that sacked his predecessor, Emeka Ihedioha, and declared him winner of the March 19, 2019 governorship election.

Recall that the apex court had, on Jan. 14, removed Ihedioha of the PDP on the ground that he did not score the lawful majority votes in the Imo governorship race.

An Ondo State High Court, sitting in Akure, on Friday, ruled in favour of Denki Wire and Cable Nigeria Limited, saying it could not be indebted to the tune of ₦51 million to Unity Bank Plc.

The Lagos State Government said Thursday it had reached an agreement with the China Embassy in Nigeria to quarantine all Chinese returning to Lagos from their country to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus.
